Love these maps. Have them for many European cities. They are tough, easy to read and fold up in a second. Points of interest and places of transportation are listed. Very useful.

Love that it is laminated - easy to fold and easy to read. The only issue is it difficult to see bus routes.

Streetwise is the the only map to take with you. It is made from a sturdy paper and laminated to keep it safe while you travel. It stores and folds perfectly.

The lamination is a plus, but the type is very hard to read. We ended up using a free map from the Tourist Office instead, even though it ripped and was hard to manage.

This had me blown away! From the very start Isaac Asimov makes you think differently about the subject, in a matter that you would understand the things that usually in schools are just covered quickly with an equiation for natures most astonishing phenomena. He quickly introduces you to physical reasoning and how to use the only tool you have to bring your thoughts to quantity : math. He explains various relations , which of whom you didint think of in that way, and simplifies them so you can understand it once and for all! You had surely your moment, reading a classical textbook when you asked yourself about some situations that would violate certain laws and they just werent covered in your textbook. Isaac , as if he knew what your questions are, answers them as you read along, so simple those answers that reading it once you will understand them. Hes writing is just phenomenal as this piece of his mind. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO EVERYONE!

This book is really quite incredible. It assumes the reader has no prior knowledge of the subject and then builds up concepts from scratch. When anyone asks me about Physics, I tell them to give this book a try and they always thank me.

I was a high school physics dropout. If I had read this book, I may not have been. Asimov is one of the best, if not the best, science writers out there. In three volumes, he manages to cover the whole of physics; unlike most current writers of physics for the lay person he does not spend undue time on modern theoretical physics (It helps that this was written in the 1960's). Asimov seamlessly weaves history and mathematics into the narrative.This makes Understanding Physics an ideal "living" text for the homeschooling family, particularly if paired with practical application methods. Topics are not covered in great depth, however, and it helps to have a solid grasp of basic algebra and trigonometry before diving in.

Too bad (for me) that Isaac wasn't one of my Professors in school. This rather thick tomb is one that brought a new outlook on the learning curve to my rather meager previously retained studies. Choose a chapter, any chapter, and I came away with an aha and a better understanding of the subject covered. Clarity is the key word . . . the real deal when it comes to a better way of approaching a subject matter containing cloudy or difficult threads to follow, suddenly brought into focus and, that word again, clarity. Not all genius can plant the seeds of understanding, Isaac is one of those who bridged the gap. Good stuff!

This is not a text book, but a very good book for understanding physics. This is a mandatory reading for every engineer. I got it for my son (he is in high school): I want him to love the subject, not to struggle with it.

I went through a year of college physics and didn't understand things nearly as well as I did once I was finished reading this book.I read twice.

This is the 2nd time I've bought a book that comes from the Goodwill in CA. and the books have been in great condition. My son is a physics junkie and this book is a great reference book and easily understood.
