I work for a defense contractor and my division is in charge of Alaska. We have about 60 sites that we manage and we needed a way to display their location, so I got this map and some push pins. It's a great looking map and has every village I needed, and it's the perfect size for a large cork-board. If you're looking for a map of Alaska I would definitely recommend this one.
We live in Alaska and have this up on the wall in our office. We then put markers on the places where we've lived and worked over the years. Really a super good map.
I like the semi glossy finish.
What a great map!! Lots of detail and the state is together, not chopped up to make it fit better on the page. This is the best map I have seen of Alaska. Very high quality, which is what I have always found with National Geo. maps.
I think this is the biggest, best, and most detailed wall map of Alaska. I took care of people from all over the state. I framed this and hung it in my office. It was wonderful to find the small towns and villages. It is also good for trip planning.

Great detail, alaska is so big the details are small, but the topo and the complete view of Alaska is awesome
Too many labels in too small of a font make this map too difficult to read. The cartographer attempted to label absolutely everything which resulted in a tangled mess of labels that were too small to read and obscured the features they were meant to identify. It would have been much better if the cartographer was more selective in which features to label. If you want a reference map of Alaska to put on your wall don't buy this map. I bought this map and returned it because it simply wasn't functional as a reference map.
