I received the hardcover books today (prime shipping). I also picked up the problem book. As a basis for comparison, I used the 1966 edition that I also own. I picked up the new set as FLP set are among some of my most favorite physics books and I wanted to own it in a relatively error free version. I read the FLP long ago and now wanted to read it again using the new edition.Here is my assessment of the quality of printing of the new Millennium edition putting is side by side with the 1966 edition.The binding is quite nice and the books are good looking. The pages are not glossy at all but the quality of paper is not great. The print however is not good at all. The letters are 'thin' and rickety and harder to read compared to the original red edition that has nice thick bold black letters printed. They are readable if direct light is shining on them, however, they do cause eye strain and require effort to read. All FLPs (old and new editions) have a lot of room on the right margin and this is nothing new. However, the left margin for the Millennium edition is too close to the spine making it awkward to read. The pictures are however, nicely done and so are the math, the formulas, and the equations. In short, the printing of the Millennium edition does not do justice to the excellent content. My advice for People who are contemplating purchasing the new millennium edition is to skip it and try to acquire one of the older versions in good condition and deal with the errata online. I have not decided yet whether to keep mine or send it back. I love FLP but the printing quality of the Millennium edition does leave a bad taste in mouth. I completed my last Physics class in 1964, and I still go back to these lectures from time to time simply because they're a joy to read.OK, I'll admit I spent 35 years developing system software and I have a life long love of math and science, but I think these lectures are accessible to anyone who wants to actually understand what physics is all about. Dr. Feynman is able to present the concepts in a way that gets past the "here's the formula, memorize it" approach that many introductory presentations have been reduced to. If you persist, you will be rewarded with an understanding of how all those odd sounding bits fit together and at least some idea of how it all works.Taking on these three volumes is a daunting task, but if you truly want to grasp this material, you won't find a shorter or easier path to getting there. You can read all kinds of popularizations relating to the voodoo of quantum mechanics, the time twisting of relativity, and the unfathomability of the smallest and the largest scales of the universe, but if you want to glimpse the reality behind the magic you need to recognize that a lot of very, very smart people have spent the past few hundred years sorting it out. The fact that all this can be made comprehensible to us mere mortals at all is a major accomplishment.

Of course the substantive content is beyond reproach, but it remains a challenging read, regardless of one's educational background.However, if you are reading the Feynman Lectures with Kindle for the iPad, be aware you will be disappointed in the formatting -- when inline mathematical expressions are rendered, these formulas are not properly displayed. Speaking with the editor of the Feynman Lectures, he informs me that Amazon has not updated the Kindle software for the iPad to support the newer mobi standard (or Amazon delivers the old .mobi version to iPads instead of the newer .mobi standard?). He informs me that publishers generally are complaining to Amazon about this problem for some time.

It gets deep quickly, and may be more thorough than some folks need or want. It's an overview in some sense, but the methodology is intense and takes a LOT OF MATH. Se entera de las cosas que pasan en su país cuando regresa de sus viajes o cuando alguien la llama para contarle. Todos los ricos de Colombia, Alemania, Francia, y Londres de esa época eran parientes, sus “amigos de toda la vida”, o sus pretendientes.Para alguien cuya vida corría peligro a diario, tal y como relata acerca de las llamadas telefónicas, las amenazas, y los problemas financieros, tiene una memoria increíble.La historia de cuando se va a la isla y nadaba en 3 horas de un extremo al otro, me parece exageradísima, y le resta credibilidad al libro.Los secretos y las confidencias parecen, en su gran mayoría, suplidas por Garganta Profunda, y ella se las acredita como pertenecientes a conversaciones con ‘su Almanegra’. El resto del libro es acerca de la vida ‘chic’ que tuvo hasta que la embarró metiéndose con el capo.

Se necesita tener mucho valor para admitir y contar esos históricos momentos que desangraron a la bella Colombia! Una excelente narrativa, cuando empiezas a leer el libro no puedes dejarlo, me tomo dos noches terminarlo, me intrigaba toda la corrupción que rodeaba al gobierno Colombiano, con narcos paras y guerrilleros; sospecho que las cosas no han cambiado mucho.Por ultimo, por favor no compren el libro pirata que ha salido al Mercado y Amazon lo esta vendiendo también, no se por que razón?El libro pirata es de tapa roja, la portada es una baratija, nada que ver con el original que esta hecho con el buen gusto y elegancia que destaca a la autora. I bought this book for my own entertainment and information. I'm a Colombian who has been away from my country for over 50 years.So, I don't keep up-to-date with the things that happen over there. I like the book in general. It was well written even though the themeof the book is so brutal and sad. Hope Virginia Vallejo is having a more peaceful and happy life away from all that tragic relationshipshe had with Escobar. The past is dead and should remain that way. This book was delivered promptly and it was in very good condition. I have found it very useful in planning a vacation in souther Spain.

This book was our second most used travel guide (of 3) during our recent trip to Portugal and Andalucia. Our favorite was Time Out (a relative judgment.) Fodor's gave a competent appraisal of the relevant tourist attractions- hardly a difficult task in Southern Spain (1. go to cathedral 2. go to bull ring 3. go to castle.) The restaurant recommendations were mostly useless- very dowdy and focused on traditional options. My thought is that Fodor's is focsued on an older crowd (wife and I are in low 30's.) I wouldn't recommend Fodor's, even though the specifity of a Andalucia focused guidebooks makes it superior to the Michelin Spain guide.

I have had an interest in the occult for 20 years. I have read several books on Witchcraft and I must admit that I was rather skeptical about this book. I unfortunately believed many of the bad things that I heard about the author. Those who trash this specific book remind me of the elitism that I dealt with in graduate school. Honestly this has been the best book on Witchcraft that I have read. I lament the fact that I did not read it back when it came out. Then again I lament many things that I did around 2003.Ravenwolf never claims that she has all the answers. Yes the book seems to aimed at a younger readership, but that has nothing to do with the quality of the information presented. I don't find Ravenwolf's tone to be condescending either. I highly recommend this book to women and men who are starting a journey into Wicca/Witchcraft. Those with experience in the Craft will also gain much from this tome.

Silver Ravenwolf was the very first author on the subject of witchcraft that I ever read as a child. In fact, almost every witch writer of my generation that I know has had the same experience with her work and holds her in a special place within their hearts. Her writing style is entertaining, witty and quirky. A good occult teacher to me is not someone who can string along a bunch of unnecessarily complex words (often misusing them) which when broken down means very little or absolutely nothing other than an attempt to look psuedo-intellectual and pretentious. A good occult teacher to me is someone who can take complex ideas and concepts, break them down and convey them in an easy to understand manner. This shows that they have mastery in understanding the idea or concept and are more concerned with the student understanding the idea than trying to come off as lofty and wise. Silver Ravenwolf is among these very talented teachers.Solitary Witch: The Ultimate Book of Shadows for the New Generation by Silver Ravenwolf is fantastic for anyone who is new to Witchcraft, Wicca or Neo-Paganism. It provides a strong foundation for any seeker. It’s also a fantastic reference book for anyone who already has a practice. The strength of this Book of Shadows is that it’s aimed at the solitary practitioner, as the name suggests and provides the basics for anyone to have a full personal practice. Scattered among the vast amount of spells, rituals, information and instructions are those gems of deeply inspirational wisdom that Silver scatters within her books if you’re paying attention. For example she writes, “To be a Witch, you must be brave enough to face everything inside of you, and have the courage to change the things you do not like. Being a Witch has nothing to do with spells, rituals, and unusual clothing – they are the fun stuff. To be a Witch is to desire personal transformation.”Critics will often state that they don’t like her prolific work because they don’t believe or agree with this or that within her books. Absurd! I don’t agree with everything in the book – but I’m not sure if I’ve ever agreed 100% with any book that I’ve read on witchcraft or the occult. You don’t need to believe anything in the book, just soak it up and then give it a try. Witchcraft is about experiencing and knowing what works for you, not blind-belief. This is one of the books that I always recommend to those looking for a solid foundation into the craft, as well as those who want to revisit the foundational basics.

This is not only a bad book for witches and Wicca in general, but an absolutely HORRIBLE book for beginners! I bough this on a recommendation from a friend, but I later found out she was not at all serious or knowledgeable about the craft. Even though I purchased this as a teenager and knew little to nothing about witchcraft or Wicca, I knew this book seemed to be off base. I didn't realize until years later- years in which I studied many good books on the subject, was taught by wise community leaders, and trained under the Majestic tradition- just how horribly off course it really was!For starters, RavenWolf straight up just doesn't know what she is talking about. There are tons of inaccuracies, I have no idea how she could manage that, other than I guess she just makes stuff up off the top of her head.Made up correspondences, wrong names and meanings for runes, statements that are straight up historically inaccurate, incorrect lore- I could go on. Not only that, but there is a tone of bashing Christianity- which has absolutely NO place in a book about Wicca- and having to hide that you're a witch or Wiccan! She even gives advice on how to LIE about it to your parents! Oh and apparently witchcraft and Wicca are the same thing in her eyes, which is absolutely incorrect. Witchcraft goes back centuries, Wicca was created in the 1950s by Gerald Gardner. Also you can be any religion, or no religion, and practice witchcraft. (Just a reminder.)What's worse? She never talks about the Wiccan Rede or ethics of magic. Which for beginner witches is EXTREMELY important. What she does do is spend most of the book giving counseling or "motherly" advice to potentially troubled teens. Instead of delving into important aspects of the craft, she just throws a ton of beginner information (most of it inaccurate) on a ton of subjects into it.Secondly, this does not cover important 101 aspects of the craft. The ones that it covers, it does so very poorly. She tells you what you should/have to do, but does not explain WHY. Which is SO SO important for everything you do! The book is CLEARLY aimed at teenagers, yet the spells all call for all kinds of specific and even expensive ingredients. She never even gives knowledge about how to write your own spells- she apparently just want you to use hers. Also she talks about needing all kinds of tools that one does not need to practice the craft. The only tool you absolutely need is yourself, any good witch knows that.In the end it seems like Silver RavenWolf is diving into the demographic of baby-witch teenagers who don't know that her works aren't reputable, and preys on how difficult being a teenager can be, and how easily they can be manipulated if they don't know any better. Or maybe for the hot-topic goth phase "witches" who really aren't serious about truly learning the ways of the craft.Either way, I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. I seriously can hardly believe Llewellyn agreed to publish this. I actually threw my copy away (recycling bin, of course) rather than donate it to a library- because I couldn't stand the thought of someone reading this absolute drivel! It would do more harm than good! Stay FAR away from any of her books!If you want some good Wicca 101 books, start with Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner and Living Wicca: A Further Guide for the Solitary Practitioner (Llewellyn's Practical Magick Series). Start learning to work with energy using Energy Essentials for Witches and Spellcasters . Then go from there.Also, utilize this amazing modern age- go listen to some Pagan Podcasts! I've learned a ton from ones such as Witches BrewHaha, Inciting a Brewhaha, The Wigglian Way, The Crooked Path, and others! Some of them no longer update, but going back and listening to the ones that were released is 100% worth the great knowledge you'll find. And you can listen while on the way to work/school, or while doing chores, working out, whatever!

I’m new to the craft although I’m not a teen. This book has helped me understand in every aspect the nature of everything in my life. There is even a part that helped me with battling acne due to how I cope with stress. I have a few others but this one is by far my favorite. And the book is a lot larger than I expected... Great book Silver!!!!

Well written, concise and informative. This book was short and to the point, it had a lot of great information, much of it was very eye opening, especially concerning calcium supplements. If you have concerns about osteoporosis, this is a great first step into learning what things can help you improve your bone density. I only gave it 4 stars because, although the author sited many studies to back up his writing, the majority of these studies were from the 80's and 90's. I would have liked to have seen some findings from more recent studies. Overall, very happy with this purchase.

I've read quite a few books on this subject. This book covers from how osteoporosis occurs and why, what vitamin and minerals to take and how they work, and the best foods to support a heathy bone structure. I thought it was well written and easy to understand. The book also focused on overall health including diet and exercise and not just taking calcium. I liked that approach since it doesn't focus on just taking a pill. This is a good read for people with osteoporosis and younger people so they learn how to take care of themselves now and help prevent it or limit the impact of osteoporosis in their older years.

Although many people automatically think of Osteoporosis as an old woman's disease, it is actually quite common in men too. My uncle has suffered from it for a number of years now, and is willing to try anything that could help to improve his condition. And that's where Dr Hinish's book has really helped. Being a foodie is often restrictive when it comes to strict diets, but not so with this - plenty of healthy Mediterranean food, so fresh fish, white meat, vegetables and olive oil make for a delicious and nutritious meal plan.

I bought this book for my 76 year old mother. She loved it! She liked the fact that it was jam packed with information and the information was written in an easy to understand manner and wasn't full of a lot of medical jargon like some of these types of books are. She did say that she wished there were some sort of 'cheat sheet' that summarized all of the important information as there was just so much information in the book. The only bad thing I can say about it is that now she keeps quoting stuff out of it to me and providing 'advice' to me about my own diet.

Thank you Dr. Finish. I am a 62 year old woman and recently had a bone density scan and discovered I'm osteopenic in my spine. I immediately have implemented your quick start suggestions and have found the information in your book easy understand.

I thought I understood how to care for my bones, especially since my mother suffered a fractured hip from osteoporosis.I was wrong. Dr. Hinish's book really helped me get a handle on the best ways to protect my bones well into the future. What I found particularly of interest is the need for younger people, both men and women to begin addressing the care of their skeleton to avoid painful complications later in life.I discovered I wasn't taking enough vitamin D so will now adjust accordingly.Osteoporosis can cause many problems which can be avoided if we begin to look after our bones earlier. Thanks Dr. Hinish for helping us do this.

Just love this. I like the fact that this book is jam packed with information and the information was written in an easy to understand manner. It wasn't full of medical jargon like some of these types of books are. I think that this book should include some sort of 'cheat sheet' that summarized all of the important information as there was just so much information in the book.

I didn't know about many of the supplements discussed in this book,or what foods are best an which to avoid. I now feel like I'm able to develop a program that work s for me. unfortunately I'm at risk of fracture and choosing to take fosamax. but I,m hopeful it be short term. With the lifestyle changes and supplements plus The Meeks Method exercises for people with osteoporosis (different book, also very good) I feel much stronger in only a couple of months. I take just one osteoprime, one 100gm ubiquinol, and one 2000IU vitamin D every morning after breakfast. I'm trying to get the rest of what I need through the diet and lifestyle (only one cup of coffee per day for example.) An added benefit seems to be improvement in other problems of tachycardia and severe allergic reactions! I am only 58 and didn't expect this diagnosis so young. Thanks to the diet lifestyle and supplement suggestions in this book and the exercises in the other, I feel hopeful that I will improve.I am adding more changes over time as they make sense and seem possible. Good luck to anyone who has osteoporosis who is reading this!Kathy

There, he was able to get her to relax and their connection went into over drive being away from the stress of their Dallas hometown and work. He was able to get her to do things she would normally not do, she was so caught up in his persona. What stays in Vegas stays in Vegas right....WRONG. Their Dallas troubles follow them to Vegas, and both of them have to come clean with their problems. They were in it together and now they would solve their problems together. Pearson was determined to protect his woman at all cost, regardless of who it was, be it an ex or family or unloyal friend.This was my first read by Kasey Martin and it won't be my last. I love the way she writes. I could not put this book down from page one to the end. The chemistry between Monique and Pearson was off the chain erotic, when Monique let her inner freak fly. This was a well done plot and story line. It was full of drama, action and mystery that had me guessing whom the betrayers were. I figured out one but did not guess who the second one was. Even though both Monique and Pearson were dealing with betrayal of trusted friends and family, they managed to stay true to each other and get their HEA. I just know that Kasey has a story about Venus, Dom and Keifer. She's already hinted at that and I'm so ready to read their story.

I have really become a big Kasey Martin fan. She is an excellent writer that I thoroughly enjoy. Monique and Pearson were awesome as a couple, and might I add their chemistry was fire. Both had to suffer through acts of betrayal but I was happy they both held firm to their happily ever after!

A delightful story. Sexy, a little humorous with a side of mystery. An enjoyable read; a book that I would read again.

I love that this was a standalone, which is rare these day. Pearson so a beautiful queen and went hard at getting her to be his woman. Monique's mom, sister, boyfriend and so call best friend were some dirty dog. Glad her and Pearson got their happy ending!

Kasey Martin is an awesome author who tells a great story. Her sucks you in with each word, and her heroes are super sexy!

Came across ms. Kasey Martin last year and so far she has not disappointed ....I will continue to hit tht one click

Loved every page, loved all the characters and how they fed off one another. The sex, the romance and the passion!!!
